Despite low interest rates, home sales sluggish

REAL ESTATE WRAPUP: The August home sales numbers are out for Wedgwood and View Ridge and it’s a pretty downcast report. Here’s a closer look compliments of Liz Nitz from Windermere, who specializes in this part of northeast Seattle.

Wedgwood:

Homes sold: 8

Pending: 3

Average sales price: $408,994

Median sales price: $415,000

Average days on market: 51

View Ridge:

Homes sold: 1

Pending: 4

Average days on market: 22

Observations:
Liz tells us that August is typically the first or second slowest month of the year for home sales — and this year was no exception. She says plenty of sellers are ready to sell (and negotiate) but too few buyers are qualified or motivated enough to purchase
