From Seattle Police just before noon:
A man suspected of robbing a Wedgwood bank at gunpoint Wednesday morning wasn’t on the lam for long.
Just after 11:15 a.m., a masked man walked into the Key Bank at 73rd Avenue Northeast and Northeast 35th Street demanded money, and fled the bank.
Eighteen minutes later, police had tracked the suspect to the University District (using high-tech gadgets AND old-fashioned sleuthing!) and arrested him near Northeast 42nd Street and Ninth Avenue Northeast after a brief foot chase.
Officers will likely be around the Wedgwood and University District scenes for some time as they search for evidence.

Seattle Police say a second bank on 35th Avenue Northeast in Wedgwood has been robbed, apparently by the same man.

The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank on foot, last seen headed eastbound on Northeast 82nd Street. North Precinct patrol officers and detectives responded to the location. The suspect is still outstanding. This suspect is believed to be the same suspect that robbed a Key Bank on the same street on September 7th.
The suspect is described as follows: White male, approximately 6′ tall, medium build, between 30-40 years old, wearing a baseball cap, brown hair, facial hair, and blue eyes. If anyone has any information on this suspect, please call 911.
